Educational Frameworks and Initiatives
The
Victorian
Curriculum
The Victorian Curriculum is the framework for setting the standards for what students will learn and teachers will teach. I am accessing the Vic Curriculum content desciptors, scope and sequences and planning resources on a daily basis. I use this framework adaptively to design relevent and meaningful learning objectives to meet the needs of my students.
FISO, HITS, E5
The frameworks of FISO as a school improvement tool, combined with HITS and E5 as high quality teaching guidelines have been informing my professional knowledge and practice. They have been key frameworks to develop my understanding of the 'big picture' of how schools and teachers can work to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
Blooms
Taxonomy
Blooms Taxonomy is a framework that can be used as a practical and authentic tool for curriculum planning, instruction and assessment of learning towards higher order thinking skills. I use Blooms Taxonomy as a tool to progress my students towards the higher order thinking skills of apply, analyse, synthesise, evaluate and create so they can become life long learners and critical thinkers.
Multiple
Intelligences
Multiple Intelligences is the framework developed by Dr Howard Gardner who introduced the theory that there are eight different types of intelligences that describe the broad way in which students learn. I use the multiple intelligences framework to recognise the diversity of student learning, their talents, gifts and to support a differentiated teaching and learning program.
